Free 2008 Summer School

Pinnacle Education will again offer free summer school to any high school student. Enrollment is done on through www.pinnacleeducation.com Parents/students will be required to provide a photo ID. Students can begin taking courses as early as May 15th.

Flinn Scholars Program 2009

Sophomore and Junior Parents - Please join representatives from the Flinn Foundation Scholarship Program, Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and the University of Arizona to learn about the exceptional education opportunities for outstanding high school students in Arizona. Flinn Scholars rank in the top 5% of the graduating class, attain a minimum 3.5 point average, score a minimum combined total of 1280 on their SAT 1 (critical reading and math) or 29 on the ACT, and participate and demonstrate leadership in a variety of extracurricular activities.

Computer Proficiency Test

Chaparral HS, March 25 and March 26, 2008, 3:15-5:00PM in Room 204. To register, sign up in the guidance office. The computer proficiency is met by taking a computer basics course or passing the computer proficiency test.

National Testing Day

Chaparral HS, Saturday, March 22, 2008, 9- 1:00 PM in the Media Center. During the event, students will choose between a full length practice SAT, ACT or the Princeton Review assessment (PRA). The PRA, a sampling of both SAT and ACT test questions, helps students decide which test is best for them. To register, pay $5.00 in the bookstore. Parents and students are invited to a score back session to learn what the test results mean, gain some helpful strategies and learn about the college admission process at Chaparral HS on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, 6-7PM in the Media Center.

DeVry University

"Her World"- An all day event of workshops designed to help young women explore non traditional career opportunities in business, management and technology. February 28, 2008.
"Passport 2 College" - Earn College Credit and get a jump start on your college degree.
Courses:
Financial Accounting, Intro to Business and Technology, Architecture and operating Systems in the Lab, Intro to Electronics and Computer Engineering, Intro to game Simulation Development, and Introduction to Networking with Lab.
