CHAPTS - Chaparral High Association of Parents and Teachers
Mission Statement
To support the Chaparral community by fundraising, volunteering time and allocating funds for the benefit of all students.Update from CHAPTS President
August 31, 2010
Dear Chaparral Families,
Wow—three weeks of school already behind us. If you are like me, you are asking yourself, how can that be? The students are probably more settled in than we, the parents. The start of the school year is a very busy time.
The CHAPTS membership drive is underway. If you have not done so, please complete your membership form and return to school. Families are also asked to complete the directory form and volunteer form. The forms can be found on the CHAPTS website: www.CHAPTS.org. All forms can be printed and returned to school. CHAPTS membership monies are used to support professional development, additional curriculum supplies/periodicals, and classroom equipment/technology beyond what is allowed by district funding.
CHAPTS meetings are open to all CHS parents; please come to a meeting and hear firsthand what is happening day to day. For those parents who find they have a little “extra” time, please consider joining the CHAPTS Board of Directors; you will need to attend monthly meetings and volunteer for committees/activities overseen by CHAPTS.
CHS and CHAPTS will again rely on the monthly Fireworks and supplemental Firecracker as a primary communication tool. An email notice, including link to publication, will be provided to all families with email address in place for CHAPTS as new issues/updates are posted.. CHAPTS continues to work with SUSD on having all parent emails to ensure prompt communication of key updates pertinent to your child/children.
As you settle in for the 2010-2011 school year, please take a moment and identify ways that you can contribute to the excellence that we, as parents, and our children, the students, experience at Chaparral. For this excellence to continue, we must all give back. Individually, you do make a difference; collectively, great things can happen!
Thank you for your support of CHAPTS!
